ReEdit this shot.
Hi. This is a shot from the "There are four lights" scene in star trek tng series i did last week. I don't know why, but this particular image was a real pain in the but to edit into a happy form.
Critique all you like, but what I'm really interested in is seeing what you would do with this out of camera shot.
ReEdit away in your particular style and tell me why you did what you did. I'll probably learn somethung cool.
Could you add the image ????
Here is the photo. Not sure why it wouldnt load on the initial post.
We're only working with a jpg?
I think the better option is to upload your SOOC to Dropbox and put the link here so people can work with the best possible resolution.
True. The requirements are even lower on r/PhotoshopBattles ????
I guess I'm just a RAW snob ????
Like Fourbrickette, please share a RAW file. ????
There's no life out of RAW for non phone photography.
I gave it a quick go...
As always, I work from the story I would like to bring across.
Looking at the original image, i was confused on what is this about... yet, of course it is about Picard, Madred and those lights
Also, this is a relatively dark scene in the TNG-verse.
The lights in itself are a symbol for Picard freedom of mind and sanity.
So, how to give a sense of this all without changing the compositional choice you made.
I added vignette, to darken the scene and put the focus on Picard and Madred. The lights I kept bright (even brightend them a little).
I desaturated the image a little to convey the grim situation Picard is in. Lastly the main scene has been made a little blueish and the lights+their surroundings (the freedom etc) are more yellowish (barely noticable, but its there...
Oh, and I cropped juuuust a little ????
My quick try on mobile.
I thought it was way too blue, largely in part due to the bluish gray tone of the bricks, so I adjusted the color.
I was tempted to make this 4:3 to fit with the old TV aspect ratio but decided 5:4 worked better.
I emphasized the lights more, even gave them spotlights on the floor.
I would've changed the color of the Cardassian's skin but couldn't get my fingers that precise on mobile.
Also, a vignette to add to the darkness of the scene (even though TNG lighting was crap, even lighting most of the time).
Haha, I actually liked the blue hue.... and even made it blue-er ????
Funny to see how different persons might think in opposites each for their own reasons
The only thing I want more blue is the Cardassian! ????
The flesh tone is killing me. Please address this immediately, @therearefourlegos ????
