Hey, lego_photography here with my entry for the Brickcentral Behind the scenes Hidden Side Contest.

scenery + setup

I decided to create a forest scenery with sticks as trees and moss and earth for the ground. For the background I just used a blur paper and to make it look natural I put a background light behind it. Moreover I used a spray bottle to make the scenery a bit wet and the small water drops are a nice little touch to it.

ligth+ Camera setting

The shining crystals I made with a light string I put into the transparent bricks. Yes the crystals are lego. But the most interesting part is probably newts magic. for this aspect I set the exposure time on my camera on 2 seconds and this gave me 2 seconds to ´draw´ with light. Simply explained the shot takes 2 seconds and every light appearing in these 2 seconds gets into the final shot. so I took a LED and I drew this effect.

after editing

Allover the shot didn’t need much after editing. Just some color and light balancing.

I took me at least 40 tries to get the perfect or a good looking effect, but I’m really happy with the final product and hope so are you. Here are the final results!

Thanks for sharing.

I like the first one of these three extra images best of all! Mystery and natural. Great lighting overall!
